Unfiltered Insights on Daily Driven Racer

Daily driven racer feels like an early 2000s inspired PC racer. To me it reminds me of the old Shockwave games that you could play on your computer on shockwave.com. I don't even know if that website exists anymore or was safe to play games on.

Daily driven racer heavily focuses on split screen multiplayer to get the most fun out of everything you do. There are plenty of challenge modes that you can play alongside your friends like cops and robbers. You can do sprint races, Battle mode, and a couple other options. I don't have anybody to play these split screen modes with so I'll have to hold off on doing a review on that section of the game.

The game physics feel extremely nice. They are almost perfect for your daily arcade racer. The AI is fairly intelligent and can race well. They are actually difficult to beat if you chose the wrong car for the race.

What I will be focusing on is the soul single player section. There are six game modes to choose from in the single player mode. The first mode is the grand tour mode. I enjoy the grand tour mode; it's essentially just a tournament style racing system that you can run through. You have to see if you can beat all your opponents. One thing I don't like is that you have to play through the entire grand tour mode or the game won't save. I got three races into it, took a break, and came back expecting a save to load and nothing of that existed. Also when you're playing the grand tour mode after you finish a race you just end up jumping straight to the next race. There is no finish screen that shows you who plays and what time you got on the track. There's no tournament style point systems for the grand tour mode, and I do not remember seeing a best lap segment.

The challenge mode is the game mode that you play to challenge other racers in order to unlock their vehicle. This game mode is surprisingly fun, but can be difficult in its moments. You don't get to pick your vehicle when you are challenging the other opponents, they just give you something random and you run with it.

In cruise mode you pick a car and drive it around the map. I don't think there are any secrets to find. It just exists.

There are also a couple other game modes but I don't think I can do much in them yet. There may be an unlock system to continue gathering race tracks to race on.

Is this game worth buying? At its current price I would say it is not. If it's valued around 5-8 dollars then maybe. I only played around an hour and felt like I had seen all there was to see right off the bat.

I hope to see future updates! I would love to play this game when it's in an even more completed state!
